It was days after the accident before she finally tracked down where they were. Finding the kittens in a bad way, she took them home and tried her best to take care of them, quickly discovering she was out of her depth!
Not knowing what else to do, she made contact with Caroline Grace, a volunteer foster Mom with Saving One Life, an animal rescue center based in Pheonix, Arizona.
After picking up the kittens at a prearranged spot, Caroline found them to be in critical condition, though still battling for their lives.
“They were CAKED in urine and feces. 1 kitten already had a crackly chest (indicating pneumonia). And 1 kitten had an umbilical infection and was struggling to breathe,” said Caroline.
She spent the next few hours warming the kittens up and providing supportive care. Hypothermic, they needed around-the-clock care and attention.

Antibiotics were then provided, along with iron supplements to combat their anemia.
The next few days were nail-biting, to say the least.
