Expecting The Worst, He Watched As She Lept Off The Edge!

Dogs seem completely unaware of their size, quite oftern the smallest pooch will have the most ferocious bark. Cats on the other hand are usually a completely differant story.

Though they may come with completely oversized personalities too, cats tend to be more cautious than our canine friends. Usually sizing up a situation before they take action, cats often opt to flee if they find themselves in a risky situation.

As is the case with feral cats, they tend to take to their heels if a scary human shows up. One such kitten found herself in a very precarious position, all alone on a bridge with humans walking by, and worse still cars crossing. She found herself looking over the edge directly into the water.

Being a bridge in Florida’s Manatee County, there are many things lurking beneath the surface who might find a kitten a particularly tasty snack.

A man named Yarnell happened to catch sight of the kitten when the worst happened and she lept off the edge.

“Pure fear,” tugged at him. “I was so scared for that kitten, that it wasn’t going to make it,” he told ABC 7.

However, it wasn’t an alligator that grabbed for the tiny feline, it was a passing boat from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission that scooped her from water.

“Without their help, we wouldn’t have been able to get that kitten out of the water as quickly as we did,” Yarnell added.

Saved from a potentially grizzly fate, the kitten, now named Ariel, is undergoing recovery at the Manatee County Animal Services in Palmetto, Florida.

“She’s an adorable three-month-old kitten,” Hans Wolgefahrt, who’s an Outreach and Event Specialist for Manatee County Animal Services, told the news station. “It’s heartwarming that she’s simply alive right now after going through something like that.”

Officials discovered she was dealing with internal bleeding, probably from her mighty leap off the bridge. So she was transferred to a 24-hour animal hospital. This little fighter suffered a ruptured stomach but she is recuperating like the little champion she is.

“She is doing well and getting some much-needed R&R in a foster home. We are now taking applications from potential adopters.”

The situation could have ended tragically for this beautiful little soul.

But she’s going to have a happy ending thanks to the kind folks who rescued her. Great work heroes!
