This Cats Reaction To Meeting New Baby Simply Can’t Be Topped!

After bringing their baby home they couldn’t wait to introduce her to their cat, however, things didn’t really go according to plan.

Initially things looked to be going well when Covfefe, the cat, was introduced to Cazier’s brand new daughter, who was safetly tucked into the carrier. While sniffing at the newborn she suddenly backs away before, with a slightly urgent look on her face, taking off.

Cazier went on to say that while Covfefe is “not used to being around babies.” Though she was genuinely interested in all things baby prior to the big day. “She’s been crazy about all of the baby stuff like the stroller or the crib bassinet. Anything she can play with.”

Cazier said he could “tell right away what was going to happen next.”

“She did this weird movement with her move like she was kind of swallowing and then she started backing up,” he said. “So I was like ‘oh my gosh, now she’s about to throw up’ and lo and behold she did.”

Just a few seconds after meeting the baby she dashed out of the room only to run into another room and vomit on the floor. So as far as first impressions go things did not get off to a good start, however, it did make for a thoroughly entertaining video.

Cazier shared the interaction on TikTok where it went on to be viewed of 3.8 million times. Then going on to spark huge speculation as to what caused Covfefe to vomit in the first place, with some pople even saying the cat was purely jealous.

This is a proposition that can be given some legitimacy after a 2019 study published in Current Biology found cats attach to their humans in a simlar way to babies and dogs via physical interaction.

Having a new arrival in the home being showered in love and affection right in front of the house cat may have trigged this reaction. Then again she may have eaten something that didn’t agree with her.

A three-year-old chocolate mitted lynx ragdoll, Covfefe (or Fefe for short) has always shared a special bond with Cazier. “She’s really cuddly with me, but pretty much only me,” Cazier told Newsweek.

“She doesn’t care for my wife very much but she loves me and has always come over to me. She’s somewhat independent but she and I definitely have a weird bond.”

The cat’s owners were left in hysterics at Covfefe’s reaction, which was perfectly captured on the hilarious video. “We couldn’t believe what had happened. My wife and I were dying,” Cazier said.

“I sent it to our family and everybody was laughing so hard. I had a TikTok account because my wife likes to share things with me so I decided to post it there and see what happens.”

The video blew up with cat fans flooding the comments section with their thoughts on Covfefe’s response to the new arrival.

“What a way to protest” empresscouch commented, with Bria Jones writing: “I had the same reaction to my siblings, very understandable.”

Roneisha noted: “She had the respect to go to the other room” while xx___Jane___xx said: “Pls give her extra love it’s a big change and she’s throwing up from the stress.”

Tyrus Wolf sympathized, writing: “your cat has the exact same pattern as mine!” with kayoticc__ sharing a similar first meeting that sounded even worse. “My cat took a dump in the middle of the nursery after letting him meet the baby,” they said.

Cazier isn’t jumping to conclusions though he suspects it might be a mix of things.

“She was probably jealous or maybe it’s that reality was setting in and she’s kind of nervous about that,” he said. “But weirdly enough, we haven’t had any incidents since then. She keeps her distance from the baby but she’s back to normal. No more throwing up.”
