Lost, Frail, Her Face Covered In A Crust, So Desperate She Ran Toward Her Mistaking Her For Someone Else!

A wandering kitten, frail and covered in crust, sprinted towards a woman mistaking her for someone else.

Nadija, an animal rescuer and fosterer for AnimalLuvr’s Dream Rescue, received a call about a malnourished kitten lingering near someone’s home. The little stray, emaciated and with a face covered in crust, initially eluded Nadija’s attempts to approach.

“When we arrived, we spotted the kitten but she wouldn’t come to us at first,” Nadija said.

Playing a game of cat and mouse, the shy kitten darted between hideouts. “After playing tag for a few minutes, I decided to play a video from YouTube of a mama cat meowing. Within seconds she was running towards me, meowing back and seemed happy.”

“I scooped her up and we drove to the ER. She was making biscuits (kneading) in the carrier and flopped over for snuggles.”

Mom Is Doing Her Best In Freezing Conditions, But Mom Is Not Who They Think She Is!

The next day, Rue’s spirits lifted, showcasing resilience as she ate and took medication. Nadija, Rue’s newfound friend, brought her home to foster, witnessing a remarkable transformation.

Gone were the health issues, replaced by a lively Rue, discovering the joy of indoor life. Initially timid, she evolved into a confident and playful kitten, leaving behind her past of freezing at sudden movements.

“She was snuggling and even started to play, and that’s when I knew Rue would be just fine,” Nadija told the Kitten Cat Post.

Gradually and steadily, Rue embraced the concept of sharing open spaces with humans within the warmth of a caring home. With the disappearance of the crust on her face, her breathing improved significantly, and her energy levels surged.

Rue unearthed the delights of playing with toys and adapted to the opulence of indoor living. Her concerns diminished, paving the way for a more relaxed and contented existence.

“She originally was a very timid, shy and sensitive kitten. Any noise or fast movement would make her freeze or hide, but now, weeks later, Rue has found her confidence, and she is a completely different kitten.”

Rue’s favorite spot became a blanket basket, where she napped peacefully. Her playful antics, from batting at toys to climbing cat trees, showcased her newfound confidence.

Rue even formed bonds with other foster kittens and enjoyed sunbathing.

She takes pleasure in darting around the house, crafting playful antics, and stirring up mischief with fellow foster kittens. Spotting a small toy triggers an immediate response, as she fearlessly bats or tackles it, showcasing her newfound feline attitude.

“One of her favorite things and a skill of hers is to always be able to find the sunny spot in the house to sunbathe.”

“She snuggles on the couch with me and is very playful.”

“It’s so sweet to see her find her confidence, be a happy kitten without a care in the world, and just enjoy life especially after the rough start she had” Nadija said.

Nadija marveled at Rue’s journey, from a timid and sensitive kitten to a happy, carefree explorer.
