A kindhearted lady had to be home one day when she noticed a tiny kitten at her door asking for help. The lady could immediately see how dirty and scrawny the tiny feline was, so she reached out to Chatons Orphelins Montreal, for help.
A volunteer rescuer picked up the kitten, named Moxie, and took her on a two-hour journey back to the rescue in the hopes she would be there in time.
Thankfully Moxie survived the trip back to the rescue. Her will to live, something that had carried her through to this point in her life still shone through, giving her a new chance at life.
“She purred as soon as we put her in a warm bed. She wouldn’t have survived long in this state, and she was so happy to be cared for.”
“She was so scrawny that I could feel her every bone. She had discharge from her nose and a lot of stomach issues,” said Celine Crom of Chatons Orphelins Montreal.

Unsurprisingly, as soon as Moxie moved into her new foster home and was presented with a plateful of food, she wolfed it down, not leaving a single morsel on the plate.
With a regular source of food and the right medication Moxie was a changed kitten after just a few days. She began looking for attention and began to behave more like a kitten.
“When she was healthy and ready to socialize, she instantly connected with our house cat,” Celine went on to say.
As her health improved she began putting on weight, growing at an unbelievable rate. It wasn’t long until her real personality began to shine through.
“Moxie is full of life and will play for hours. She will jump up and down, roll around on the floor, and run back and forth through the cat tunnel. She has boundless energy, and everything is an excuse to play.”
Her transformation has been a joy to watch. Blossoming from a skinny bone wrack of a kitten, her life hanging in the balance, to a bright-eyed bushy tail young cat full of confidence. Best of all was a newfound trust in humans.
“She will seek hugs from guests, and if we take out a toy, she’ll be ecstatic to play.”
“Whenever we watch TV, she will come resting on our lap or shoulders and fall asleep purring.”
“When I’m working, she will sit next to me, so she will not miss an opportunity to ask for play or cuddles,” Celine went on to say.
Thanks to the kindness of strangers Moxie has a new chance at life, one she can now look forward to.
Her future forever family a very lucky indeed.
