Mom Was Feral, And Very Skinny, While Her Kittens Were Filthy And Taking Refuge Under The Dumpster!

While Cat Man Chris was on his way to rescue another group of precious felines, fate led him to a Dunkin’ Donuts coffee stop.

With his well-trained “cat rescuer eyes,” he spotted a group of ginger kittens in need of immediate help. Hiding in the bushes and seeking refuge under a filthy dumpster, these four kittens, along with their skinny feral mama, tugged at Chris’s heartstrings.

“I stopped at Dunkin’ to get CATfeinated, and my cat rescuer eyes immediately saw tiny fluffy nuggets playing by the dumpsters . So this fur family is my top priority right now,” Cat Man Chris said.

Cat Man Chris knew he had to prioritize this fur family’s rescue. Armed with TNR traps (trap, neuter, return), he set out to capture and save them.

However, the task proved more challenging than expected. Surprisingly, the hungry mama, usually caring and selfless towards her kittens, was the first to enter the trap.

Following her was the adorably cute Dunkin’ Donut, named for his chill and charming personality.

Munchkin, a friendly calico with a “big cattitude,” fell for the trap and joined Dunkin’ in safety. However, two ginger donuts remained elusive, staying hidden in the bushes without their mama’s protection.

Despite Chris’s efforts to lure them with various techniques, they remained cautious and refused to budge.

But Chris’s determination paid off the next morning when he successfully trapped the remaining ginger kittens using Dunkin’ and Munchkin as “bait.” Rescued and safe, these sweet little donuts began their journey towards trust and socialization.

Chris won them over with love, treats, toys, and gentle care, ensuring they were free from fleas and filth.

Unlike their mother, the kittens quickly learned to trust humans, eating treats from Chris’s fingers with ease. It was evident that they would make purrfect companions for anyone looking to share their lives with playful and affectionate fur babies.

Though their mama remained fearful, Chris continued to care for her daily, ensuring she was well-fed and protected. The Dunkin’ Donuts family found their way to the foster program at Happy Tailz Cat Rescue, where they will be spayed, neutered, vaccinated, and ultimately find their forever homes.

Amidst the non-stop kitten rescues in Florida, Cat Man Chris remains dedicated to saving these vulnerable little lives from the harsh streets. He encourages others to consider fostering felines, as this year has been particularly challenging for rescue organizations.
