Found With Her Legs And Tail Hanging Limp, Her Chances Of Ever Walking Again Appeared To Be Going From Slim To None!

Found in storm drain she could hardly move, with her tail and rear legs hanging limp they found she had broken her back!

Two-month-old Tallyrand had been found in a storm drain with a broken back. Legs and tail hanging limp she couldn’t move them at all. Rescued by the Humane Rescue Alliance, it soon became clear she would probably never walk again.

“When they found her she couldn’t move her back legs or her tail or anything,” said Nikki Link, a vet nurse at the Humane Rescue Alliance, in a story by WUSA9. “She could not walk at all, she just wasn’t responding.”

But the dedicated staff at the alliance were not about to give up.

Tallyrand the tuxedo kitten was given acupuncture treatment, and just over a month later, things began to happen!

First, her tail began to twitch, then her rear legs began to kick. Then quite out of the blue, she stood up all on her own! Link said in the news story:

“We were holding her and we just decided to let her go, it was the most exciting thing.”

Aww, isn’t she precious? After a couple months of work, this little sweetheart is almost ready for adoption. She’ll be looking for the purrfect home to give her a little extra TLC as she regains her mobility.
