From Foster Care To A Forever Home, After One Year, A Loving Senior Cat Still Waits And Hopes For Somebody To Love!

Mimi the cat, an 11-year-old tabby, was in need of a new home after her previous owner passed away.

She was brought into Sparkle Cat Rescue, a non-profit organization run by volunteers in North Carolina, along with her feline friend Rocco.

At first, Mimi was quite shy and uncertain in her new environment, but with the help of familiar items from her previous home, such as cat beds, blankets, and a cat tower, she gradually adjusted and began to explore her new surroundings.

After a few months, Mimi came out of her shell and revealed her true personality: a friendly and affectionate cat who loved being around people.

More independent, her friend Buddy struck out on his own while Mimi blossomed into the loving cat she should have always been.

“She started exploring other rooms after a few months of being with us,” Sparkle Cat Rescue said on social media. “She is quite a little social butterfly and not shy with people. She is very sweet and attentive with humans.”

Despite her outgoing nature, Mimi had trouble finding a forever home because of occasional litter box issues.

However, what she did have back was her confidence which she put to good use month after month spreading the love with everyone she came into eye contact with.

As the months went be she kept her hopes as she enjoyed daily life with her feline friends, and took every opportunity to spend time in the company of her two legged friends as well.

And so it was that the right person came in to get to know her.

So nearly a year in foster care, James came for a meet-and-greet with Mimi and fell in love with her.

She went to her new home, where she quickly adapted to being the only cat and resolved her litter box problems.

Mimi now spends her days snuggling on her new dad’s chair and keeping him company while he watches movies. She even gets along with James’ dog, Suzie, who visits on weekends.

“Sunday morning, I woke up with the dog under the covers and Mimi at the foot of the bed,” James shared.

Mimi’s story is a testament to the power of patience and love when it comes to finding a forever home for an older cat in need.

What made a strange situation even more surreal was the kittens unusual appearance!
