With No One To Turn To, Helpless And Alone, They Are Found Clinging To Each Other, Crying For Their Mom!

It seemed clear that mom had either abandoned her babies or met a sad end herself.

Two neonatal kittens are found outside, alone, mewing for their mom. Rescuers waited for her to return, however, she never came back

The kittens were plucked to safety and soon found themselves in the care of an experienced foster mom, Melinda Blaine. Her first task after cleaning them up was to make sure they have enough to eat.

Introducing little miss Liora (meaning light/hope) and miss Minette (meaning faith). Little Liora is the sweetest little nugget and has turned into a total purr machine,” said Melinda.

Liora came in and was super angry in the beginning since change is uncomfortable. I’m happy to say that she is now doing super great with eating and is getting happier and happier to be here every day,” Melinda added.

Under Melinda’s expert care the two sisters soon bounced back and really floofed out. Becoming even cuter still, then in just over a week, their eyes began to open.

Not long after losing her entire family, a tiny orphan is introduced to a pair of calico sisters!

Alone near the side of the road, they only have each other for support until help arrives!

The girls turned 11 days old today and Liora is the only one of the two to show little slivers of eyeballs so far, but they’re progressing perfectly at their own paces.

Minette on the other hand, while she may be behind in the eyeball department, was very much the glutton.

“Minette loves to eat and snuggle up with her sister and with her stuffed teddy bear mama while in the incubator. She currently looks like a little ball of gray fur, but we should be seeing some eyeballs in the coming days.”

Soon Minette’s peepers opened too, and at three weeks old it is time for the cute pair to take their first steps outside the incubator on their own. Not something Minette particularly enjoyed, partially due to the drop in temperature!

Minette hilariously screams during “exercise time” when she’s asked to take more than one step. Liora is constantly right by my side purring up a storm and accidentally swiping me in the face with her murder mitts.

Now that they were out and about they were free to explore, and more importantly, socialize with other cats, kittens, and humans too.

Just a couple of co-dependent, fluffy potatoes learning how to walk without toppling over.

With time ticking by, and adoption day getting ever closer it was time to make arrangements for the young ladies to be spayed, along with other tests, to make sure they were in tip-top health.

I love Liora’s goofy little clingy personality and how she’s in the awkward state of vision development that has her looking adorably deranged. These girls are coming up on 4.5 weeks old, which means weaning and FeLV testing are right around the corner. Pre-adoption is coming up and I’m looking forward to finding the perfect forever home for these girls to go to together.

Before she really knew it, Melinda found herself announcing the two siblings were up for pre-adoption with the main caveat being they are adopted together.

Meanwhile, they still have their remaining few days in Melinda’s home to enjoy.

Hopefully, their new home wherever it may be will put up a social media page for us all to follow.

Thank you, Melinda, for saving these girls and sitting them on the right path to a happy home and a life full of love, together.
