Only Ever Having Had Each Other To Rely On To Survive Meant They Had All Become Very Close, And That Is How They Hope To Stay!

One kitten appeared to be stuck!

“Labor isn’t going well heading to the vet!! Please pray,” said Heidi.

After the first baby appeared to have become stuck Heidi immediately rushed Lorelei to the vet, where, with the veterinarian’s help, she delivered three kittens. Unfortunately, one didn’t make it, but due to Heidi’s quick actions, the lives of mom and her two babies had been saved.

After recovering from a difficult birth and some other associated health problems, Lorelei’s body was focused on healing and not producing milk. So Heidi stepped in and began feeding the kittens around the clock.

“I realized our little babies were losing when weighing them today and our darker baby was already critically small. So thankfully I have kitten milk replacer and syringes and bottles on hand and immediately supplemented them.”

For the longest time, Lorelei seemed to continue struggling with her health. Very low on appetite, she was still producing enough milk.

Both her baby’s Leia, the Calico, and Luke seemed to be struggling too. Luke was not able to nurse and Leia seemed to be drinking less.

However, little by little Lorelei’s health gradually returned. Then almost a week to the day her kittens were born, her milk kicked in, and they could nurse from mom.

“BIG news is it seems like some milk is coming back in….I’m super hopeful,” Heidi said.

“I am beyond happy at this milestone!! Mama Lorelei is getting her milk slowly back in which makes me want to do cartwheels.”

Luke’s eyes opened before his smaller sister, Leia. His ability to see and his advantage in size did not seem to put Leia off in the least. She more than held her own as they wrestled in the nest.

Once her eyes had opened the family was moved into a large playpen so the kittens could begin to stretch their legs.

“This family is just SO dang sweet!! I’m holding onto the hope they will all stay together forever.”

Unlike their still timid mom, the two siblings love human attention and always meow for cuddles when one is nearby.

They remain glued to each other’s side as they attempt to ambush each other while working on their feline ninja skills.

Then quickly going back to mom for snuggles when they wear each other out.

“They had such a rough start! I’m so happy I was able to help this family through it all.”

“Still hoping a special family steps up to adopt all 3 together!!.”

Heidi set an adoption date for the family keeping her fingers crossed that someone special will come forward and adopt them altogether.

Lorelei, the ever doting mom, remains close to her kittens even at six weeks of age.

Before Heidi knew it pre-adoption day was here for the family of three. Their journey to healthy happy cats has had many twists and turns but was very definitely worth it.
