What Made A Strange Situation Even More Strange Was The Kittens Unusual Appearance!

With nowhere else to go a tiny, ill, one-eyed, single nostriled, kitten wanders up a driveway meowing for help!

In Orlando woman got the job of her life when a six-week-old kitten sprinted up her driveway meowing for help. What made the situation even more unusual was the kitten’s appearance! The tiny feline had only one eye and one nostril.

Out of sheer luck, the ball of fluff had chosen the perfect house as the kindhearted woman plucked her to safety bringing her inside and giving her a name, Bug. Bugs’ condition gave the woman cause for concern as she appeared to be having trouble breathing due to an upper respiratory infection. This infection made her breathing even more difficult as she only had one nostril. That being the case she made contact with Ashley from Liberation Cat House, who thankfully had space for the unusual kitten.

Ashley suspected Bug was born a little different, but the kitten was friendly and fearless and had overflowing kitten energy right from the start.

“Her finder reports that she has been eating well and is super sweet, and clearly, she is a little fighter. She has been calling her Bug, and I like that because it reminds me of my youngest sister, who we nicknamed Bug when she was little,” Ahsley wrote.

“This little Bug will need a trip to the vet for a full examination to determine if she has any treatment needs.”

Despite a life spent on the streets, all she wanted to do was to get her babies off the sidewalk and into a home!

Knowing she was running out of options she did the only thing she could to save her babies!

Despite her serious health issues, Bug didn’t feel she was different from any other kitten. In fact, she appeared to have the energy of six kittens packed into one when she practices her signature move pouncing on toys.

“Despite it all, Bug has remained her spunky, playful, cuddly, quirky self. She doesn’t know that she has any issues, and we just want to give her the best chance possible,” Ashley said.

After a thorough medical checkup specialists were called when Bug was found to have a heart condition along with a congenital eye disorder. Care for these disorders would not be cheap, but by this time Bug had won the hearts of many people who kindly donated to her care.

After visits to the specialist, Ashley learned that Bug had a hole in her heart as well as an underdeveloped eye with cataracts.

However, none of this held back Bug in any way continued her life as an energetic ever curious kitten. “Her confidence and energy give me hope. She can play and navigate around the house even if she doesn’t see fully,” said Ashley.

Due to Bugs’ ongoing health issues, her long-term prognosis is far from certain. So when she is ready for her forever home, her future family will need to prepare for a lifetime of checkups and possibly ongoing medication.

“Bug can be hard to photograph because she is always a blur while playing! She loves her lobster toy, and I love her spirit.”

Bugs’ online popularity has grown to such an extent that she was now going on meet and greets.

Understandably everyone who meets her falls in love with her instantly, including artist, Emma, who did an adorable portrait of her.

Before she knew it Ashley had to prepare Bug for her forever home. So when January rolled around Bug flew to her new home in Pittsburgh.

“Her new human has experience with special needs animals and is committed to providing Bug with the best care possible. Thankfully, there is a veterinary cardiology practice in Pittsburgh to monitor Bug’s heart. Not only that, she has other kitties at home, including a 6-month-old kitten to be Bug’s playmate,” Ashley said.

“Though I’m going to miss her, I don’t worry about Bug’s life from here.”

“I know her fearlessness and curiosity mean she will settle into her new home well, and she loves other cats so she will be excited to meet her new siblings.”

Bugs’ new mum keeps everybody updated on Bugs’ new life.

She is as fearless as ever and completely in love with her new brother Archee and several new feline sisters.
