From Feral To Friendly Feline, Can His Dream Come True?

The beloved orange cat, Reggie, with his distinctive crossed eyes and big nose, captured the hearts of TNR (trap, neuter, return) rescuers at the feral colony in Tucson, Arizona. Reggie, whose full name is Parmigiano Reggiano, like the other cats at the Big Cheddar Colony, stood out to rescuer Courtney Gustafson during their TNR efforts over the summer. Despite being a feral cat, Reggie displayed a friendliness towards people, making Courtney hopeful that he could be socialized and eventually enjoy the comforts of an indoor life.

Unlike most feral cats that require stealth when setting traps, Reggie would boldly position himself in the center of the circle where the rescuers gathered as if he were the star of the show. His charismatic personality shone through as he eagerly sought attention and even hopped into the car’s trunk as if asking to join them.

The caretaker of the Cheddar Colony, Arcelia, nicknamed Reggie “Kraft Cheese Single” and he would vocalize at her door, yearning to be let inside.

While the rescuers knew Reggie had the potential to become a wonderful house cat, they had their hands full with numerous kittens and cats that required immediate and costly care.
