A passerby happened to see a tiny kitten on the side of the road trying to nurse on his mom, who sadly did not survive being hit by a car! Extremely malnourished, the Good Samaritan rushed the little fighter to Perth Rescue Angels, Perth, Australia, to give him a chance at life.
“Stanley was estimated to be around six weeks old, but weighed a tiny 188 grams (to put that into perspective, this is barely the weight of a one-week-old kitten),” Perth Rescue Angels said.
Amber, a foster volunteer, took him into her care, immediately beginning around-the-clock care. Seeing how frail he was, she soon saw he had trouble eating on his own.

Malnutrition had delayed his development so much so, his head was way larger in proportion to the size of his body. However, despite the odds stacked against him, he simply refused to give up.
Under Amber’s care, Stanley continued his fight for survival.
Soon progress was made and he had put on some much-needed weight and was quickly back on all four paws.
With his weight gain, also came a gain in both energy and strength. He quickly became dedicated to finding a way out of his nest. He was also very vocal about when he thought it was time to be fed.
“He would scream the second he heard voices, launch out of his little carrier for food. You could tell he had so much fight in him. He was so confident and loving from day one,” said Amber.
After a week he was eating on his own, and Amber knew by then he had truly turned the corner.
“He slowly began to perk up, began to play, and started showing signs that he would be just fine,” said the shelter.
By now nothing could slow him down.
Though still tiny, he was simply unstoppable.
By the time he was three weeks of age, Stanely had tripled in weight and had a nice round belly.
Best of all, he was now ready to socialize with other kittens.
He was introduced to his sisters to be who had been rescued as stays.
“They were three weeks younger than Stanley and had come into care not long before him at just two weeks old,” said the shelter.
One of the sisters, Cleo, quickly succumbed to Stanley’s charms and the pair hit it off becoming the best of friends.
Behind the eight ball size-wise when he met the sisters, he took some time to catch up. Anything he lacked in size though, he quickly made up for in personality.
“It became evident very quickly that they had a beautiful bond and would love to find a forever home together.”
A lady named Nikki met the irrepressible pair and immediately fell in love. Soon Stanley and Cleo found themselves in their new forever home.
“Stanley and Cleo have now been renamed Gizmo and Ninjapuss. They are so loved by their family. They enjoy playing together and cuddling, and are looking forward to spending the rest of their lives together!”
