Found Panting In The Extreme Summer Heat With No Mom In Sight, Time Was Of The Essence For These Calico Sisters!

Found outdoors in extreme desert heat they were all under stress and needed help as soon as possible.

Found outside baking in the extreme summer heat of the Arizona sun they were all stressed, every kitten panting in the 110-degree temperatures. Having had no contact with Mom for two days a foster Mom was needed ASAP to provide them the care they so desperately needed.

Melinda Blain of Bottle Baby Fosters, Pheonix, quickly put up her hand and the five Calico sisters finally had somewhere safe to go.

Melinda quickly found she had five girls with less than savory habits when it came to suckling on each other. A habit that usually left them covered in urine. So they were quickly placed on probiotics for upset tummy’s.

Soon they were back on the right track with around-the-clock feeding and care from their foster Mom. About the time they were eight days old little eyeballs were almost beginning to appear.

Melinda gave them the names Bonnie, Lux, Cecilia, Mary, and Therese after one of her favorite books called The Virgin Suicides. Also giving them the collective family name ‘The Lisbon Sisters.”

Braver than his siblings he seemed to know that they all needed help.

Along With The Rest Of Her Litter, A Tiny Kitten Is Abandoned And Left For Dead At Two Days Old!

“These girls are all settling in well and are eating more and more each feeding. Here’s a quick cheat for telling these ladies apart: Bonnie: Dilute baby with less white Lux: Black chin spot and orange sleeves Cecilia: Dilute with mostly white and two cream polka dots on her back Mary: More orange on right side of face Therese: Orange “crown” and white/orange blaze on her back,” said Melinda.

As their little eyes were beginning to open little personalities were also beginning to emerge. Lux for instance quickly stood out as being the noisiest.

She also tended to be the fussiest, requiring more snuggle time than some of her siblings before falling asleep.

Lux’s sisters Bonnie and Therese are far more mellow than their highly energized sister.

“Bonnie and Therese are the two mellow gals, Lux and Cecilia are high-energy waddling loons, and Mary is still working on the whole eyeball thing,” Melinda said.

As she grew Lux’s strong personality began to assert itself even more. Demanding to be fed first in the loudest way possible she was quickly becoming the alpha of the group.

Her increased sassiness required some calming purrito time with her foster Mom.

Before Melinda knew it the littermates were all sporting chubby bellies, content and very happy in their new home.

“Lux and Mary are lazy latchers and want me to do all of the work. The most important thing is that they’re all eating full meals and they’ve officially moved up to the every four hour feedings.”

Lux still continued to assert herself and was quickly moving through to the waddle stage. As well as being the floofiest of the group she soon required a trim.

She, however, was not very pleased with the result.

Bonnie and Therese were still the mellow girls and Cecelia, more independent, was pretty happy doing her own thing. From out of nowhere though another kitten had managed to insert herself into the Lisbon sisters pack!
