Trying to carry her kittens safely across a busy road she is sadly hit by a car, fearful of everyone her kittens find a woodpile and hide in fear.
A feral Moma cat was trying to ferry her kittens across a busy road when she was struck by a car. After Moms accident her kittens, fearful of strangers, ran to a nearby woodpile hiding in fear.
A Good Samaritan found the terrified duo and contacted Here Kitty Kitty Rescue, a rescue group based in Indiana. When volunteers arrived on the scene they quickly found the kittens still hiding in the woodpile, absolutely refusing to come out. After managing to coax one kitten out, the other called Poppy, completely unsocialized steadfastly refused to come out.
Though Mom, unfortunately, did not make it, rescuers eventually managed to trap Poppy. She was brought to a foster home in the hopes of eventually socializing her with help of other kittens and a little loving human contact.
However, once there she immediately retreated into her shell and didn’t want to be near anyone.
It just so happened that around there time another kitten arrived on the scene having come from a similar background as Poppy. Phoebe, a tuxedo, along with her brother, had also lost their Mom, and come into the rescue hoping for another chance at a better life. In pretty bad shape she had an infected eye that would later have to be removed.
