Emaciated And Covered In Dirt, She Knew If She Did Not Act Fast This Cat Was On A One-Way Ticket!

Emaciated and covered in dirt, she was in very poor condition. The next stage in her short life involved a journey to a high kill shelter.

Marmie was plucked from the streets in such poor condition her chances of a full recovery looked slim. Care would just be too expensive, the shelter she was taken to did not have the resources to care for her. Her future looked bleak, if something wasn’t done soon it was going to be a one-way ticket.

When she was brought in she was so thin she only weighed 4.5 pounds, her fur was also extremely matted and she was covered in dirt. Life on the streets had not been kind to Marmie.

She was placed in a room off-limits to the general public, and that could have been the last the world would ever see of Marmie. If not for a woman called Daisy Austin.

Daisy is an adoption coordinator for an animal hospital in West Hollywood, California.

She happened to be in the shelter that day, and absolutely no intention of taking home another cat. She walked into the room Marmie was in and immediately saw a very skinny cat with rather sad-looking eyes. Marmie took her opportunity and started rubbing Daisy’s face, purring endlessly.

Daisy saw that Marmie was rough around the edges, to say the least. She had wounds around her face along with an upper respiratory infection. But when it came right down to it, all Marmie wanted was just to be loved.
