Clearly Happy To Be Reunited With Her Kittens, Something Still Seems To Be Bothering Her?

A new Mom is living in a camper park when she gets into a fight with a local dog, she is rushed to a shelter for emergency care.

Toodles has been living life as a stray cat in a camper park for most of her life when one day an already hard life took a turn for the worst when she got into a scuffle with a dog that had been bothering her.

A park worker, Mind Brocato took Toodles Anne Arundel County Animal Care & Control in April where they soon found she was a new Mom!

Once they knew she was going to be OK a search began to find her newborn kittens.

“Toodles was lactating and clearly had recently had kittens,” Chris Weinstein, a board member of Friends of Anne Arundel County Animal Care & Control, told The Dodo. “Mindy alerted her neighbors to be on the lookout for kittens. Five were found under a mobile home and Mindy rushed them to the shelter.”

When an employee gently placed one of her babies on her bed, Ttoodles sniffed at the tiny kitten and meowed with happiness.

Once she laid eyes on him she acted like they were long lost friends who had just been reunited!

He ran to them for help and they soon found he was not alone.

The rest of the litter, only 2 weeks old at most, clambered around finding their way onto Mom all the while squeaking as they began to nurse.

That very night the newly reunited family is taken to a foster home for ongoing care. However, something still appeared to be upsetting the new Mom?

A couple of days later they found out just what it was when another kitten was found crying for her Mom as she hid in the insulation of the very same motor home the others were found in. This kitten, now named Percy was rushed to be reunited with the rest of her siblings.

“The kitten dived right in for a meal,” the shelter wrote on Facebook. “And Toodles? She seems ‘much more relaxed now that this NEW baby arrived,’ the foster says.”

Toodles is so happy to be rejoined with her kittens in a comfortable home, and is being the best mom she can be. “Toodles, who is thought to be about 2 years old, has been ‘such a good momma,’ her foster says,” Weinstein added. “She is a very attentive mom and the kittens have thrived.”

Soon, the entire family will be spayed and neutered and microchipped and will go home with their adopters.

But the very first one to find a family was Toodles herself: “Toodles and Percy were the first to find a home — together,” Weinstein said. “That warms all our hearts, as the moms so often are the last to be adopted.”
