Stray Or Dumped, Was She At The Right Place At The Right Time? Or Was It Just Intentional?

Some say she was a stray, born to the streets, others say due to her sweet nature, she was dumped.

Regardless of who is right, clinging to a gym fire escape, she happened to be just the right place at just the right time! Or maybe it was intentional, perhaps she was trying to attract attention? The date was September the 9th 2019, the place was the Granite Athletic Club on Town Farm Road, Hallowell, Maine, where a small Tabby kitten was clinging to a fire escape.

Seeing her precarious perch a man stops working out and quickly rescues the stricken kitten then ends up taking her to the local police station.

Thought to be roughly seven months old, with her sweet disposition, she settled right in at the Hallowell Police Department. Officers gave her the name Granite, after the gym where she was found. However, this was soon shortened to “GG.”

She ran across the road, climbed up her pants and onto her shoulders. Giving her the best kitten hug she refused to let go!

I can see why they chose this name, clearly a gym full of cat lovers who wouldn’t want to name a cat after a place like that? In fact who wouldn’t want to work out there. Check out these hardworking exercise fanatics in the photo below!

Despite the fact that she had made herself right at home the police department realized she could well be someones missing kitty, so they went about trying to see if anyone was looking for her.

“(She was) dropped off and it was like she lived here the whole time,” Patrol Sgt. Jordan Gaudet said. “She made herself right at home.”

Photos were placed on their Facebook page, however, after one month no one had come forward to claim her. So on October the fifth, an announcement was made to the local community.
