Thankfully, she manages to grab it just in the nick of time!

What she finds is an emaciated kitten, little more than skin and bone, he is covered head to toe in fleas, seemingly losing his battle for survival.

She turns to social media for help, and makes contact with Sam, Little Cat Big Island, who offers to give the tiny orphan a foster home.

“I volunteered to pick him up, get him healthy, vaccinated, neutered, and adopted,” said Sam.

Oakley, the dog, joined Sam on the rescue mission and quickly fell in love when he met the skinny feline.

Robin, as he was named, was initially quite hissy at first, however, he soon settled down when he realized no harm was going to come to him.

He had confirmation of this when he smelt a bowl of food in his room, this was dispatched in short order.

After his meal, Robin was given a somewhat tedious flea bath. Tedious not because the kitten put up a huge struggle, but because of the number of bloodsuckers on his tiny body.

“I pulled 50+ bloodsuckers off of him! He went to sleep that night with a full belly, in a warm bed,” Sam said.

The welcoming committee meanwhile, was waiting patiently on the other side of the door in the form of the other resident cats and dogs. Introductions would have to be made!
