She Finds Two Emaciated Kittens Lying On The Side Of The Road, One Is Still Barely Breathing!

Fergus had developed a knack for taking care of animals in need.

Fergus, a Scottish Fold, began caring for animals at the clinic when staff discovered he had a knack for it. It started soon after his own recovery from paralysis. He has been fostering animals in need ever since.

Upon introduction to Fergus, Skywalker almost literally threw himself at the somewhat bamboozled older cat. Initially, Fergus didn’t quite know how to take all this attention, having a tiny kitten rubbing himself all over his face.

But he soon settled down and began giving Skywalker, what he felt was a much-needed wash.

Very soon Skywalker was to become Fergus’s responsibility, and the tiny kitten was not so tiny anymore, having put on 100 grams in just a few days!

Fergus himself had been rescued from a scary situation, one which had left him paralyzed. Wrenn Rescues from Thousand Oaks, California had brought him to the clinic to start a new life.

The clinic had taken him on, committing themselves to maintain his future recovery. Within just a few weeks of arriving at the clinic, he had stood unaided for the very first time.

“I’d like to think it had something to do with our care, but it wasn’t. Fergus had been motivated by meeting another cat friend,” said Dr. Rachel Wallach, a vet at the clinic.

Fergus has always had a soft spot for animals in need and is eager to meet them and comfort them if they are not feeling well. He’s become a resident rehab cat at the clinic. While he continues to receive the best care, he’s giving back by helping those who come through door for a chance at a better life.

“He met a dog recovering from heatstroke and buddied up to him for the day he spent with us. He hung out with one of our dog rescues whose infected skin hurt him so badly he could barely walk,” Rachel said.

“Animal control brought us a bunch of orphaned ducklings and Fergus was quick to provide comfort and warmth to them.”

Skywalker has recovered fully thanks to the love from his foster dad.

He has also found another rescued kitten to be his best friend — ET who happened to be Fergus’ foster kitten before Skywalker.

“ET still visits with Fergus and has adopted Skywalker as his little brother. They play pretty rough even though Skywalker is so much smaller than him. But Skywalker holds his own,” said Rachel.

“He didn’t really start to thrive until we gave him a foster parent.

Fergus is a great dad and is the best medicine for little Skywalker.”
