Not In Great Shape, After Struggling To Keep Her Kittens Alive, Mom Found Herself In The Early Stages Of A Downward Spiral!

Plucked from the streets, they had been rescued just in time! Struggling to survive, they were completely infested head to tail in parasites.

Infested with parasites, a Moma cat and her six kittens are lucky enough to find themselves safe and sound in the home of Sheila, founder of Love 2 Foster. A foster home for rescued cats and kittens based in Oregon.

After they arrived, Sheila immediately treated both Mom and her babies with flea medication. Soon finding herself plucking both live and dead fleas off the young feline family. There were dead fleas literally scattered everywhere!

She gave the cat Mom the name Lucy and found her to be friendly, though somewhat nervous after being taken off the streets and somewhat abruptly placed in a strange environment.

She was not looking in great shape either. Missing quite a lot of fur, probably due to the flea infestation she had been living with for so long.

Lucy had no trouble in allowing Sheila full access to her kittens, pretty much whenever she wanted. This was a great help, as it allowed her to supplement feed the three smaller kittens as they were tending to get a little cranky, not getting enough to eat.

“After providing a bit more food, they are now relaxed and playful,” said Sheila.

There are six kittens in Lucy’s litter, three boys and three girls. The largest of the litter is the big tuxedo boy Orion.

He also tends to be the trouble maker of the bunch.

The other kittens ranged in size from largest, Orion, to smallest, Rigel. The three girls, named Nova, Dawn, and Aurora.

And the other two boys named Vega, and as we mentioned, the smallest of all, Rigel.

Though small in stature, he made up for his diminutive size by being the most ferocious of all the kittens. He would though, require extra attention than the others to stay healthy.
