Having Been Found Alone She Quickly Befriends Another Kitten And Insists On Staying By Her Side Through Thick And Thin!

Found on her own it became she would need a friend to help her fully recover.

Just skin and bones, a newborn kitten is brought to an animal shelter in Montreal, Canada. She had been found on her own, with no mom or siblings in sight.

After arriving at the shelter she was freezing cold so staff carefully raised her body temperature, keeping her away from death’s door. They then quickly contacted Chatons Orphelins Montréal, who immediately agreed to take her.

When she arrived her eyes were closed and we continued to keep her warm, she was little more than skin and bones,” said Celine Crom of Chatons Orphelins.

Realizing that foster care would be her only chance of survival, care was quickly organized with a volunteer, Miléna, who swung into action by attempting to bottle feed the tiny orphan.

Thankfully, she latched on immediately and drank as much as her tiny body could handle. Eventually drinking as much as 30g in 24 hours, “a very good start.”

“The little one started to suckle the bottle after being warmed up and stimulated. An important first step. She was so hungry, she cried every hour, asking for her bottle,” said Celine.

By the time she had opened her eyes, it was easy to see she needed some feline companionship. Having lost both her mom and her siblings at such a young age, she was missing having littermates and approaching all the other cats and kittens.

As luck would have it, that very month a litter of four very sick kittens arrived under Chatons Orphelins Montréal’s care.

“The babies were in bad shape – they were skinny, they had parasites and their ears were filled with clumps of ear mites. They also have severe conjunctivitis so have difficulty breathing.”

The entire litter was immediately placed on antibiotics which initially did not seem to be taking effect!
