She Clings to Her Sole Surviving Kitten, Afraid She Might Lose Him Too!

Dream passed away. Two weeks after arriving her tiny body finally gave in.

“It breaks my heart to have to write this, but last night we had to let our sweet Dream go. Her body was too small and weak to survive and despite receiving treatment it could not be saved. We tried supplemental feedings, but she wouldn’t latch to the syringe or Rosa. She decided she was done,” said Jen.

As you would expect Rosa was traumatized, however, she still had King, so she poured all her love and energy into making sure he was safe and sound, clinging to her sole surviving kitten.

Once she had recovered a little, Moma Rosa showed she has a playful side, one that King took full advantage of, getting all the love and affection he needed.

King grew quickly, thriving under Rosas and Jens’s care. The more he grew the more playful he got, becoming quite the charismatic young man.

Rosa was never far from his side, ever watchful and very protective.

Jen would have to bring Moma Rosa food and water from time to time as she was so focused on King she would forget to eat!

Gradually she began to trust Jen more and more, little by little, day by day.

“She loves to come up and sniff my finger, and sometimes she will rub her face against it. She will also sometimes let me scratch her head and chin and gives the loudest purrs,” said Jen.

Jen began hoping that she could find a home that would take both King and his Mom. However potential adopters needed to be aware Rosa was a formerly feral cat, therefore not a lap cat.

“Rosa needs an adopter who will be patient and not care that she isn’t a cuddler and will let her come at her own pace, Jen said.

Rosa and King are incredibly close, breaking them up would be a tragedy for both cats.

Then suddenly good news!

“The news you have all been waiting for! Mama Rosa and baby King have left the building…TOGETHER,” said Jen. On their way to their forever home.

Rosa and King’s love for each other had got them both through very dark times. And the best news of all is that they will be able to enjoy the love they have for each other the rest of their lives.
