After A Desperate Rescue, She Soon Found His Personality Would Grow Just As Much As His Fangs!

Driving home one day she slammed on her breaks to try and avoid hitting a tiny black kitten!

Thankfully Nicole Rienzie managed to avoid the tiny black blur, however, she still wanted to make sure he was OK, so she got out and chased after him. It was a good thing she did because when she found him she was he was in a very bad way!

“He was very, very thin, malnourished, covered in bugs and his eyes were so infected he couldn’t even see out of them,” Rienzie tells The Dodo. “We swooped him up and took him home, cleaned him up, fed him and that’s pretty much where it all began.”

Soon the tiny stray had found himself a home, along with which he also got the name, Sergio. But due to his somewhat wild nature he was renamed Monkey, after his proclivity for swinging on anything he could find. This, however, was soon shortened to Monk.

As Nicole had found, this was no ordinary rescue kitten. A fact that was only further accentuated when Monkey lost his kitten teeth and began growing his adult cat teeth. She noticed something unusual was happening with his top canines? They weren’t just long, they were really really long.

To be exact, Monkey’s top canines were about three-quarters of an inch long!

It took him 25 minutes to drive back to the same spot, however, he knew he had to go back!

“He’s got these really long fangs,” Nicole says. “He looks like a little vampire.”

Most cats canines measure to be about one centimeter long, and that’s if there is no gum recession. Says Dr. Ladan Mohammad-Zadeh, the critical care specialist at DoveLewis Emergency Animal Hospital.

That makes Monkey’s canines much longer than your average cat.

Initially, Nicole was very concerned there might be something wrong with Monkey.
