No Longer Wanted She Is Dumped At The Shelter, Hours Later She Goes Into Labor!

Nothing happened?

Nothing happened, so it was off to the vets where it was confirmed there was still one kitten inside. An emergency c-section was then organized, only to have the kitten pass away due to a severe deformity. Mom, thankfully, was brought through the operation to be reunited with her sole surviving baby.

Once she was brought home she slipped right back into the role of a proud Mom, nursing, grooming and taking care of her mini-me.

The kitten was named Meatball, and the devoted Mom was given the name Lasagna.

“She’s very protective and nurturing but she lets me handle her baby to weigh him and make sure he’s gaining weight. She’s the most attentive and affectionate mama I’ve ever rescued,” Amanda said.

After the difficult surgery, Mama Lasagna recovered well and could finally relax, turning on her purr engine as she relaxed with baby Meatball by her side.

She was made nice and comfortable in a purpose-built nursing pen.

Had she not been rescued, in all likelihood, both her and baby Meatball would have lost their lives.

Meatball is nursing well and steadily gaining weight, and mama Lasagne seemed grateful to have Amanda close by.

Soon his eyes will begin to open and he will be ready to explore.
