Leaving a hospital a man accidentally traps a stray cat in the revolving glass door. The cat’s neck was stuck, the man panicked, an ER doctor went to work to try and save his life.
Emergency room doctors go through training and then through their whole careers practicing and then repeatedly putting into practice how to think quickly in a crisis.
And a crisis is what ER doctor Dr. Halil Akyürek found when came to work at Özel Akgün Tem Hospital in Istanbul, Turkey. A man had entered the hospitals revolving door without realizing a cat had entered behind him.
As the glass door swiveled on its revolving hinges the cat’s neck had become trapped and the door jammed!
When the poor man realized what had happened he tried his best to help the struggling feline. Bystanders joined in the effort but no one was sure what to do without further harming the cat.

By now the cat was struggling to breathe as Dr. Halil Akyürek arrived, he quickly assessed the situation stepped into the breach and did what was necessary to remove the cat from the door without doing further harm.
“The cat’s neck was totally stuck,” Dr. Akyürek told Haber Turk, a news station. “He was struggling and having trouble breathing. I put my hand on the back of his head and properly removed him from the door. We immediately began CPR.”
