He has lived at the animal shelter for four long years, fighting diabetes! At 16 years of age, his dream to finally came true!
That’s right it took one cat 1460 days! His name is Pierre, and he is 16 years old. Spending a large part of his life at PAWS Chicago, in fact, the longest time of any animal at the no-kill shelter.
His age coupled with his medical requirments has made it difficult for Pierre to find his forever home. He does require two shots of insulin a day to maintain good health.
However, last Monday Pierres life was about to change when a woman called asking the staff about which animals had been at the shelter the longest!
She cried when she was told how long poor old Pierre had been at PAWS and informed the shelter that her roommate would be round that very night to meet the senior cat.
