Knowing Where They Would Be Safe, She Brought Them To Her. What She Didn’t Know At The Time Was The Stray Had Also Chosen Her Home.

She had been caring for the local stray cats in her Texas community for years. She regularly placed out food, hoping one day that at least some of them would begin to trust her.

And one day that is exactly what happened, a little calico began to warm up to Linda Zardain, slowly beginning to trust her.

At first, she began following Linda around, so Linda sat down to see if she would approach. The little girl walked right up to Linda and even allowed her to pet her.

“I really wish I could adopt her! She now lets me pet her (actually insists on it) and follows me around,” said Linda.

Linda knew the little Calico was trying to be friendly. With at least one of the feral cats, she saw a glimmer of light. So she spent more time out with the four-footed friend she had named Callie. With a dose of patience, they began to grow closer, eventually sitting side by side. A bond began to form.

The relationship got to the point where Callie would stay by Linda’s side even if she was scared by something else. Linda saw a change in the little cat, she began to think that though originally feral, Callie might make a great pet.

When he opened the door she walked in and made herself at home.

While he was in the kitchen a tiny Calico poked her head through the door and walked cautiously inside.

Soon Linda saw a slight bump in Callie’s belly, she knew right away it was not from all the food she was feeding her, Callie was pregnant. So she set up a birthing box for the expectant Mom. Callie gave it a quick inspection and then simply left.

After that Linda didn’t see Callie for a couple of days until a next-door neighbor told her he had seen a cat carry a kitten outside. Knowing this might be Callie she went off in search of the elusive calico and what would hopefully be her kittens.
