Found On Their Own Clinging To Each Other For Support, What They Needed Was A Mothers Love To Help Turn Their Lives Around!

“She came to me as a foster, and she ended up becoming a ‘foster fail’,” Asa said.

Asa’s dog Kona is very loving and has strong maternal instincts for kittens who have become orphaned. Now seven years old she had been rescued along with her three puppies.

Asa was bang on, the kittens couldn’t wait to meet their new canine friend, though it’s probably safe to say Kona was the more excited party.

That’s not to say the rest of the four-pawed family were not happy to meet the two kittens. Because they were, though perhaps not quite as enthusiastically as Kona.

Just a couple of days later Kona’s motherly instincts had well and truly kicked in and she was smothering the kittens with canine love.

The kittens knew a Mom when they saw one and a new family was made within a week.

However, cracks began to appear in the veneer of family bliss when Kona would begin to pay particular attention to one kitten. Soon the other would start crying. A problem for Gilligan and Milli, but not for Kona as she was in Mommy heaven.

“Can lazy Sunday get any cuter? I keep finding baby Milli with mama Kona, and it looks like Gilligan’s starting to get jealous,” said Asa.

Kona now watches over her two babies like a hawk! If they happen to wander a little too far from the next she doesn’t hesitate in picking them, bringing right back where they belong.

“She’s never carried any of our before so I was so surprised when she first started doing it,” said Asa.

Gilligan tends to be the slightly more adventurous one, whereas Milli likes to stay closer to home with her Mom.

Soon both siblings will be on their way to their forever homes.

“Gilligan is the more rambunctious one, constantly running around and always somehow finding something to play with (her latest hobby is teepee climbing. Milli on the other hand joins her sister from time to time, but I think she much rather prefers curling up on my lap or napping with mama Kona,” Asa said.

“We’re now on week 4 with Milli and Gilligan and I can’t get over how much they’ve grown.”

Kona is there to help them make that transition from foster home to forever home.

After all, she has been there before.

Anyway, because of her short legs, these kittens are getting too big for her to carry around now!
